Abstract

A turbocharger is provided that includes a compressor housing having an inner surface defining a flow path between an inlet and an outlet of a compressor of the turbocharger. The compressor housing is configured to support a compressor wheel therein. The inner surface of the compressor housing includes a notch formed in the inner surface. In an assembled configuration, at least a portion of the notch is located upstream of the compressor wheel. The notch includes a portion undercut into the housing toward the inlet.
