The invention relates to a spinning device for producing a yarn from a fed fiber strand by means of a circulating air flow, comprising: a hollow spinning cone which is arranged in a spinning housing having an envelope wall which is arranged coaxially and at a distance from the spinning cone and forms an envelope gap; and a nozzle device capable of applying compressed air to surround the air flow of the spinning cone in the envelope gap.
