The invention provides a method for acquiring a rock weathering rate and a soil formation rate, which comprises the following steps: regularly collecting atmospheric dry and wet sedimentation, runoff water, soil and rock samples in a drainage basin, and regularly monitoring the rainfall and runoff of the drainage basin where the samples are located; measuring the content of elements related to rock weathering and soil formation in the collected sample; according to a watershed element geochemical mass balance principle, establishing an element input and output balance equation containing two unknown variables, namely a rock weathering rate and a soil formation rate; and solving the element input and output balance equation by adopting a multiple regression method to obtain the rock weathering rate and the soil formation rate. The weathering soil forming rate obtained through the watershed element geochemical mass balance method has the advantages of being in situ, quantitative, accurate and the like, and a scientific basis can be provided for reasonably formulating the allowable loss amount of regional soil.
