The application discloses a method for strengthening
basalt carbon sequestration and application thereof, and belongs to the field of novel
carbon sequestration technology. The application introduces a mixture of
pyrolytic carbon and hydrothermal carbon to treat
basalt particles, utilizes the characteristics of abundant pore structure and
oxygen-containing functional groups of
biochar, especially the role of the
biochar as an
electron donor, promotes the reduction and conversion of Fe (III) on the surface of
basalt to Fe (II), thereby effectively inhibiting or destroying the iron-based
passivation layer which hinders the
weathering reaction; meanwhile, the local
supersaturation is reduced by adsorbing and chelating Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ and the like, so that the
dissolution reaction is continuously driven. Experiments show that the method can significantly improve the
corrosion current density and
dissolution rate of basalt in water phase, and greatly enhance the carbon capture and storage capacity of
carbon dioxide in air. The application has the advantages of low cost, environmental friendliness, significant
carbon sequestration and efficiency enhancement, and is suitable for farmland soil improvement and large-scale
rock weathering carbon sequestration
engineering.
