A solar cell that is readily manufactured using processing techniques which are less expensive than microelectronic circuit processing. In preferred embodiments, printing techniques are utilized in selectively forming masks for use in etching of silicon oxide and diffusing dopants and in forming metal contacts to diffused regions. In a preferred embodiment, p-doped regions and n-doped regions are alternately formed in a surface of the wafer in offset levels through use of masking and etching techniques. Metal contacts are made to the p-regions and n-regions by first forming a seed layer stack that comprises a first layer such as aluminum that contacts silicon and functions as an infrared reflector, second layer such titanium tungsten that acts as diffusion barrier, and a third layer functions as a plating base. A thick conductive layer such as copper is then plated over the seed layer, and the seed layer between plated lines is removed. A front surface of the wafer is preferably textured by etching or mechanical abrasion with an antireflection layer provided over the textured surface. A field layer can be provided in the textured surface with the combined effect being a very low surface recombination velocity.

Method of manufacturing solar cell

Beginning with a smooth ground aluminum blank with a relatively thin layer of leveled Ni—P, circumferential electropolishing / texturing is carried out to achieve a smooth oriented surface. A conductive slurry is provided between the disc and a porous texturing tape which is in contact with a conducting plate or equivalent conductor. The disc serves as the anode, and the conducting plate as the cathode, while the slurry, being conductive, functions as an electrolyte. In the presence of current, a reverse electroplating occurs so that the Ni—P dissolves to form Ni2+, or nickel ions which are carried away by the conductive slurry. The conductive slurry further supports or carries therein abrasive material so that by moving the porous texturing tape past the disc surface, the texturing tape picks up the abrasive material in the slurry and simultaneously with the reverse electroplating, provides the desired mechanical abrasion to achieve texturing of the disc surface. The abrasive material comprises diamond particles. The circumferential electropolishing / texturing polish is achieved by spinning the disc while applying the mechanical-chemical action through the slurry system to the disc surface with electric current passing through the electrically conducting interface during processing.

Various filler materials are disclosed, with which the coating composition may be used for thermal mapping, oxygen protection to organic dopants, thermal protection, radiation protection, anti-tamper protection, mechanical abrasion protection, or high emission of electromagnetic radiation. With certain fillers, the coating composition remains thermally stable up to 1200° C., and / or remains thermally operable for brief periods up to about 1400° C. When the coating composition includes a wetting agent, and the filler is between 0.01 micrometer and 10 micrometers in size, the coating composition can take the form of an aqueous spray. With certain fillers, the coating composition can cure at a temperature below 100° C. The coating composition can also be a thick film which provides resistance to cracking and peeling during severe thermal exposure.

Particles may be employed in combination with repellent compositions to achieve superior repellent properties. A property of the roughened surface fibers, the Roughness Factor, is used to characterize the microscopic surface structures on the treated textile surface. Treated textile substrates are disclosed which achieve superior water and oil repellency, even after multiple abrasion or laundering cycles.

The invention discloses a method for synthesizing N-benzyl maleimide from an immobilized supported acid catalyst and belongs to the synthesis technical field. The method comprises the following steps: soaking silica gel, a molecular sieve, aluminum trioxide and acidic resin or an active carbon carrier in an acid solution in equal volume, drying the mixture to obtain a supported catalyst and putting the supported catalyst into a stainless steel net; adding aniline and maleic anhydride into a benzene, toluene or xylene solvent and acidylating, stirring and heating the mixture to obtain the N-benzyl maleimide acid solution; then adding the N-benzyl maleimide acid solution, a polymerization inhibitor and the supported catalyst into a dehydration reactor for dehydration cyclization, reducing the pressure to remove the solvent and obtain the N-benzyl maleimide crude product, and recrystallizing in the solvent to obtain the N-benzyl maleimide. The invention has the advantages of high yield of N-benzyl maleimide, low content of waste acid, few production flows, low cost and little discharge of acid-containing waste water; moreover, as the catalyst is immobilized, the invention simplifies the replacement of the catalyst, reduces the mechanical abrasion of the catalyst and prolongs the service life of the catalyst.
