Embodiment Construction
[0060] In this description, the preferred embodiments and examples shown are to be understood as typical and not as limitations of the invention.
[0061]A preferred embodiment of the present invention is a method and apparatus for reducing co-channel interference in a frame-based frame-synchronous broadband wireless communication system. The present invention eliminates co-channel interference from selected base stations by transmitting uplink data from selected base stations at predetermined time frames while simultaneously transmitting uplink data from other base stations at different predetermined time frames. In a preferred embodiment, in a TDD system where uplink and downlink frequency reuse efficiencies are different, the present invention implements an uplink / downlink ratio formula that compensates for the difference in multiplexing efficiency. An exemplary frame synchronous wireless communication system for use with the co-channel interference reduction method and app...
