Problems solved by technology

Therefore, even if a common potential or a gate potential common to all pixels is operated from the outside, the in-plane dispersion cannot be eliminated.
[0012] Second, such a flicker adjustment circuit causes an increase in the cost of a liquid crystal display due to an increase in the number of parts.
[0013] Third, in the flicker adjustment process, since people manually adjust each product from the outside, this process becomes one of the causes of poor manufacturing speed

Embodiment Construction

[0048] A liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. This embodiment is a liquid crystal display device of an IPS (In-Plane Switching) driving method. In this embodiment, a liquid crystal display device in which flicker adjustment is unnecessary will be described. In order to eliminate the need for the flicker adjustment function, it is necessary to have a structure in which the initial DC component is sufficiently small and charges can move at high speed in the liquid crystal panel. As a technique for reducing the initial DC component, the present embodiment employs a punch-through compensation driving method. The punch-through compensation driving method will be described later. In addition, in order to facilitate the transfer of electric charges in the counter substrate, the counter substrate should have an appropriate structure.

Abstract

Disclosed is to obtain a liquid crystal display device capable of eliminating a necessity of a flicker control after manufacturing the liquid crystal display device. A liquid crystal display device of the present invention is an IPS mode liquid crystal display device. A pixel electrode and a common electrode have an initial DC voltage component therebetween immediately after applying electric power. It is conceivable that this DC voltage component causes a flicker. If the DC voltage component is automatically reduced to a permissible value or smaller within a predetermined period of time after applying the electric power, the necessity of the flicker control by changing potential applied to an electrode in a pixel can be eliminated. Therefore, the liquid crystal display device must be constituted such that the initial DC voltage component is set sufficiently small and an electric charge can travel at high speed in a liquid crystal panel. As a technology for making the initial DC voltage component small, the present invention adopts a feed-through voltage compensatory drive system. A constitution of an opposite substrate is optimized so as to make a movement of the electric charge in the opposite substrate easy.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device, in particular to an IPS type (in-plane switch) liquid crystal display device with a pixel electrode and a common electrode on one substrate. Background technique [0002] The popularity of liquid crystal display devices as display devices for personal computers and other various monitors is astonishing. This liquid crystal display device is structured like this: Generally speaking, a backlight as a planar light source for illumination is arranged on the back of the liquid crystal panel, and the liquid crystal surface with a predetermined expansion is irradiated with uniform brightness as a whole, so that the liquid crystal surface of the liquid crystal panel The image formed on the liquid crystal surface becomes a visible image. By applying a driving voltage to the liquid crystal filled between the two glass substrates, the liquid crystal panel has a structure for driving the liquid cry...
