Abstract

In the method, servo drive inputs a low frequency harmonic AC in three phases to windings of stator in three phases of permanent magnet synchronous motor, making motor rotate in one direction. Counting is carried out for A, B orthogonal pulse signals of increment type opto-electronic coded disc by using binary reversible counter. C pulse signal of coded disc is as reset signal of reversible counter. When servo drive has detected C pulse signal of coded disc, rotation of motor is continued till current of winding in U phase of stator reaches phase in 90 degrees. Keeping current in three phase unchanged makes rotor of motor fix at axial line of winding in U phase of stator. At this point, count value of the reversible counter denotes position of rotor of motor related to C pulse signal of coded disc. Since servo drive is able to detect installation position of coded disc, thus, increment type opto-electronic coded disc can be installed at any position.
