Embodiment 1

[0055]First, Embodiment 1 of the electro-optical device of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5 .

[0056] 1-1. The overall structure of the electro-optic panel

[0057] The overall structure of a liquid crystal panel as an example of an electro-optic panel in a liquid crystal device as an example of an electro-optical device of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 . 1 is a schematic plan view of a liquid crystal panel of a TFT array substrate and components formed thereon viewed from the counter substrate side, and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line H-H' of FIG. 1 . Here, a liquid crystal device of a TFT active matrix driving method with a built-in driver circuit is taken as an example.

[0058] In FIGS. 1 and 2 , on the liquid crystal panel 100 of this embodiment, the TFT array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 20 are disposed opposite to each other. A liquid crystal layer 50 is sealed...

Embodiment 2

[0107] Next, Embodiment 2 of the electro-optical device of the present invention will be described. In Embodiment 2, the structure of the internal driving circuit of the liquid crystal panel is different from that of Embodiment 1 in the liquid crystal device which is an electro-optical device. Therefore, the structure and operation of the liquid crystal device will only be referred to in FIG. 7 to FIG. Figure 9Be explained. In addition, the same code|symbol is attached|subjected to the same structure as Example 1, and repeated description is abbreviate|omitted.

[0108] First, the overall structure of the liquid crystal device of Example 2 will be described with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8 . 7 is a block diagram showing the overall configuration of the liquid crystal device of the second embodiment, and FIG. 8 is a block diagram showing the electrical configuration of the liquid crystal panel of the second embodiment.

[0109] In FIG. 7 , the main part of the liquid crystal...

Abstract

Thw objective is to prevent malfunction in a display element in a non-selective pixel part, thereby carrying out high-quality image display. The electro-optical apparatus is equipped with: a plurality of pixels each electrically connected to scanning lines and data lines; a plurality of selective switching elements each supplying image signals to data liens according to selecting signals; a selecting signal supply circuit which supplies a selecting signal after supplying a scanning signal to one scanning line is completed and another scanning line is selected as scanning line, the one scanning line relatively first selected by a scanning signal supplied by a scanning line driving circuit and the other scanning line relatively later selected; and an image signal supply circuit to supply image signals which regulate the period of inverting the polarity of the voltage in the image signals as after supplying the scanning signal to the one scanning line is completed and until the other scanning line is selected and supplying the selecting signal is started.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of electro-optical devices such as liquid crystal devices and electronic equipment such as liquid crystal projectors having the electro-optical devices. Background technique [0002] As an example of such an electro-optical device, Patent Documents 1 to 6 disclose that a liquid crystal element configured by sandwiching a liquid crystal as an example of an electro-optic substance between a pixel electrode and a counter electrode in each pixel portion is applied with a pixel electrode. A liquid crystal device that displays an image at a voltage specified by the potential of each of the opposing electrodes. In such a liquid crystal device, in order to prevent deterioration of liquid crystal due to the application of a direct current component, the liquid crystal element is driven by alternating current as follows. [0003] A scanning signal is supplied to each pixel portion through the scanning line, a...
