The invention relates to a Al2O3-SiO2 tundish permeable brick and its preparing process which comprises, mixing the raw materials of (by weight ratio) 76-85% of adamantine spar, 5-20% of mullite, 2-10% of anchoring agent, 1-5% of silicon micronized quartz powder, 0.05-0.20% of dispersing agent, 7-9% of water, 5-20% of xerogel powder, 1-5% of AlF3 through stirring 6-8 minutes, cast forming, drying at 110 deg. C for 24h, 1200-1400 deg. C for 3h, wherein the xerogel powder is the gel produced from sol-gel mullite precursor.
