Problems solved by technology

However, this urethane foam is characterized by containing a large amount of melamine resin as its basic feature, which leads to deterioration of the properties of the foam
Moreover, when melamine resin is used in large quantities in polyurethane foam, the applicable range of foam is limited because melamine resin is expensive.

[0099] Embodiment 1-4 and comparative example 1-8

[0100] Flexible polyurethane foams were produced by using the compositions having the formulas shown in Tables 1-3 in the next step.

[0101] All components except the polyisocyanate component were mixed in a predetermined ratio, and uniformly mixed by stirring in a mixer at 3000 rpm for 1 minute. Subsequently, the polyisocyanate component was added and the mixture was stirred for a further 5-7 seconds at 3000 rpm. The resulting mixture is then quickly poured into cardboard boxes with a square section. Foaming starts immediately and after a few minutes, reaches maximum volume. Next, the foamed article was cur...

Abstract

The composition provided by the present invention for flame-retardant flexible polyurethane foam comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of polyol components containing polyether polyols having at least 2 hydroxyl groups and a number-average molecular weight of 2000-5000; (B) ) 3-50 parts by weight of a melamine-based flame retardant with an average particle size of 30-60 μm; (C) 5-35 parts by weight of an additive-type phosphorus-containing flame retardant; (D) 0.01-2 parts by weight of a catalyst; ( E) 0.1-10 parts by weight of foaming agent; (F) 0.1-3 parts by weight of silicone foam stabilizer; and (G) polyisocyanate in an amount corresponding to the isocyanate index of 90-120. The composition of the present invention enables highly flame-retardant polyurethane foams to be obtained even with general-purpose polyols.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a composition for flame-retardant flexible polyurethane foam, and a flame-retardant flexible polyurethane foam produced therefrom. Background technique [0002] Polyurethane resins, usually thermosets, are relatively inexpensive and easy to mold, and their foamed counterparts are widely used in a full range of everyday products, including automotive components. However, polyurethane resins are flammable and burn uncontrollably once ignited. Therefore, in certain fields where polyurethane resins are used, it is now legally required to impart flame retardants to polyurethane resin products. The current standards on flame retardancy include, for example, the American standard FMVSS 302 on automotive interior parts, the Japanese standard JIS A 1321 on building materials, the American standard CAL 117 on furniture, and the British standard BS 5852. [0003] A widely adopted method of meeting the criteria specified in the a...
