Abstract

The invention discloses an organic electroluminescent display device with an organic thin film transistor (OTFT) and a method for constructing the device. By using the organic insulating layer as the gate insulating layer and the inorganic insulating layer as the capacitor medium, the display device can maintain the insulating property of the TFT while securing sufficient capacitance. In one embodiment, an organic electroluminescent display device includes: a substrate having a capacitor region and a transistor region; a TFT formed in the transistor region of the substrate and having a gate, an organic semiconductor layer, a source and a drain; the capacitor , formed in the capacitor region of the substrate and having a lower electrode and an upper electrode; a display element, connected to one of the source / drain electrodes of the TFT. In one embodiment, the gate insulating layer formed under or on the gate of the TFT includes at least an organic insulating layer, and the capacitor dielectric between the upper and lower electrodes of the capacitor includes an inorganic insulating layer.
