[0792] Typical procedure for coupling azaindole with aromatic boron reagent: To a sealed tube, an appropriately substituted azaindole precursor (0.049 mmol), an appropriate boronic acid derivative (0.059 mmol), Pd(Ph.sub.3P).sub.4 (5 mg) and K.sub.2CO.sub.3 (20 mg, 0.14 mmol) were combined in 1.5 mL of DMF and 1.5 mL of water. The reaction was heated at 110-120.degree. C. for 10 h. After the mixture cooled down to rt, it was poured into 20 mL of water. The solution was extracted with EtOAc (4.times.20 mL). The combined extract was concentrated in vacuo to give a residue which was purified using a Shimadzu automated preparative HPLC System to provide the desired compound.
