Benefits of technology

The present invention provides a system, method, and program for diagnosing the thermal efficiency of a nuclear power plant. The system can set the flow rate of feedwater and condensate water, calculate the heat exchange quantities of the feedwater and condensate water on a heater, and acquire the power value of the high pressure turbine. It can also set the condition of steam on the inlet of the low pressure turbine, calculate the power value of the low pressure turbine, and correct the reference expansion line of the low pressure turbine to recalculate its power. The system can thus identify specific elements that cause performance deterioration of the nuclear power plant.

Problems solved by technology

Thus, if the total thermal efficiency of the power-generating plant decreases, it is difficult to accurately calculate performance of the individual elements.
It is accordingly difficult to specify and determine an element that causes a drop in the thermal efficiency in the power-generating plant.
However, steam used as a power source of the HP turbine and the LP turbine of the nuclear power plant is in a wet state unlike steam used in the thermal power plant or other such plants.
Hence, the dryness of steam is different between the outlets and inlets of the HP turbine and the LP turbine, so only measuring a temperature and pressure of the steam is insufficient for precisely calculating enthalpy of the steam.
As a result, it is difficult to accurately calculate internal efficiencies of the HP turbine and the LP turbine of the nuclear power plant to grasp a turbine performance.
Therefore, it is difficult to apply the conventional thermal efficiency diagnostic apparatus 1 for a thermal power plant to the nuclear power plant whose system or element is different from the thermal power plant.
As a result, a technique of diagnosing thermal efficiency of each element of the nuclear power plant to thereby specify which element causes a drop in an electric power has not been yet proposed.
