[0007]This invention involves a method of treating a systemic disease, e.g. diabetes, immune deficiency, asthma, pain, etc., in a patient, e.g. a human being or another animal, with a medicament or drug aerosol which comprises (a) the selected medicament and (b) a suitable fluid or propellant, (c) a metering device, and (d) a dose timing element. A suitable medicament includes therapeutic categories of drugs or medicaments such as cardiovascular drugs, antiallergics, antihistamines, antitussives, antifungals, antivirals, antibiotics, pain medicaments, antiinflammatories, steroids; biotherapeutics, including peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, and gene vectors.

Abstract

A method of treating a systemic disease in a patient in need of such treatment is disclosed. The method comprising maintaining the inspiratory flow rate and volume of the patient to a certain value and then administering a medicament aerosol formulation to such patient.
