Wedge shaped suture anchor and method of implantation

A suture anchor is described which in one form may be easily fabricated from extruded material by angular cuts and bore holes which provide an offset pulling force to the suture. In an alternate and preferred embodiment the suture anchor is injection molded having an annular displaced corner and abutment wall which act to seat the suture anchor firmly within a bore hole. Novel application means are also disclosed which hold the suture anchor on a frangible shaft for insertion and upon completion of the insertion permit fracture of the frangible portion and removal of the instrument. In another form of the invention, the suture anchor comprises a substantially wedge-shaped body having a smaller distal end and a larger proximal end, means thereon for retaining a suture, and means thereon for releasable connection to an inserter shaft; a boundary surface and a plow surface of the body intersecting to form a biting edge at the proximal end of the body; and the boundary surface and an abutment surface of the body intersecting to form a cam surface at the proximal end of the body; and the biting edge being adapted to be in engagement with a first wall portion of a bore in a bone and the cam surface being adapted to be in engagement with a second wall portion of the bore opposed to the first wall portion; wherein tension on the inserter shaft is operable to move the cam portion along the bore second wall portion and rotate the body in the bore such that the biting edge bites into the bore first wall portion to lock the body in the bore.

A casing of a hydraulic machine such as a gas turbine is formed as a horizontally split type flangeless casing. The flangeless casing consists of an upper casing and a lower casing joined together at joint faces and fastened by fastening bolts. The fastening bolt has a screw thread which engages the threaded hole on the joint face of the lower casing. A bolt hole having an internal screw thread and through which the fastening bolt passes is provided in the upper casing. A sleeve having an external screw thread is fitted into the bolt hole of the upper casing by engaging the external screw of the sleeve with the internal sleeve of the bolt hole. An enlarged diameter portion is formed on a shaft of the fastening bolt at the portion where the enlarged diameter portion abuts an upper end face of the sleeve when the fastening bolt is screwed into the threaded hole in the lower casing. When the fastening bolt is tightened, the shaft tensile force of the bolt is received by the abutment of the enlarged diameter portion and the upper end face of the sleeve and, then, transferred from the sleeve to the upper casing through the engagement of the external screw thread of the sleeve and the internal screw thread of the bolt hole of the upper casing and generates the fastening force which presses the upper casing to the lower casing.

The water and hydrocarbons will pass through the coalescing media within the canisters and will be separated easily from each vessel, e.g., by gravity separation, sot that the water can be conveyed back to the ocean water without contamination.

Upgrading aluminide coating on used turbine engine component

A method of upgrading an aluminide coating on a used turbine engine component to a platinum aluminide coating. The method involves cleaning at least one surface of the component to remove hot corrosion products from the surface without damaging the aluminide coating. In one embodiment, the cleaning step involves immersing the component in a heated solution comprising acetic acid while agitating the solution using ultrasonic energy. A layer of platinum is then deposited onto the cleaned surface of the component. A second aluminide coating is then formed on the surface of the component to upgrade the component. The invention also relates to a turbine engine component, e.g., a turbine blade, having a metal-based substrate and a platinum aluminide coating on at least one surface thereof, which coating has been upgraded from an aluminide coating originally on the component using the above method.

The invention begins with a film forming substance of a paint film, firstly, the alpha amino is prepared into histidine of which the alpha amino is protected, then the histidine is introduced into film forming resin, and the tail end of the hyperbranched structure of a resin molecule is just the active group alpha amino, so that the active group alpha amino is furthest exposed, effective active groups in the resin molecule are greatly improved, and the effective active groups are in wide contact with methanal; therefore, methanal is converted into a steady nontoxic chemical compound, and the purpose of effectively removing methanal is achieved.
