An excessive sulfuric acid is added under neutral heating condition (60-90 DEG C.) to remove starch having interference to the measurement by hydrolysis, and the excessive acid reacts with the polyvinyl alcohol in the sample to generate an ester in the mean time. In presence of boracic acid, the polyvinyl alcohol and the ester generated by reaction of the polyvinyl alcohol and the sulfuric acid can both react with a boracic acid - iodine - potassium iodide solution to produce a stable blue-green complex compound, and an absorbency is measured by a spectrophotometer at a point of a special wavelength of 645nm. A standard work curve is drawn according to the linear relation between the absorbency and the concentration of the reactor, thus the concentration of the sample can be known by checking the drawn standard curve after the sample measurement. The invention controls measurement error within the range of 5%, and the measurement result is stable and accurate, which makes the invention a feasible method for measuring polyvinyl alcohol concentration in the printing waste water.

The method provided by the invention comprises the following steps: 1) filling 140g to 160g of carbon-removed continuous-casting casting slag into a graphite crucible; putting a graphite sleeve and the graphite crucible into a furnace slag viscometer; raising temperature to 1300 DEG C to 1340 DEG C and keeping the heat for 20min to 30min; 2) enabling a high-purity metal molybdenum measuring head with the size of phi14*22mm to fall off from the upper part of the furnace slag viscometer, and staying for 3min to 4min when the molybdenum measuring head falls to the upper side of dreg liquid; inserting the molybdenum measuring head into molten slag, wherein the distance between the end part of the molybdenum measuring head to the bottom of the crucible is more than or equal to 15mm; starting to measure a zero point; 3) rotating the molybdenum measuring head and starting to detect and recording the viscosity of the casting slag; 4) taking an average value of data, which is continuously detected and recorded under the same temperature of the same casting slag test sample and is no less than 10, as the viscosity of the casting slag under specified temperature. By adopting the detection method, accurate determination of the viscosity of the continuous-casting casting slag is realized.
