example 1

[0031] Parts of the ventilation system according to the invention are shown in different views in FIGS. 1 , 5 and 6 . The air conditioner 1 is fixedly mounted on the support element of the roof structure, the roof frame 2 of the vehicle. Covering panels 4 are mounted above, below and on the sides of the roof frames 2 forming the transom, and this structure is sealed at the edges. Below the air conditioner 1 there is now a sealed intermediate cavity III which is formed as a cavity, into which the process air from the air conditioner 1 can flow through the air outlets I, II. The air outlet I of the air conditioner 1 is arranged at the center of the bottom surface of the air conditioner 1, and the air outlet II is arranged at the side thereof. The main ventilation channel 3 is mounted directly on the intermediate cavity III. Openings in the main ventilation channels 3 and in the cover 4 of the intermediate space III allow air to be distributed into the individual main ventilati...

example 2

[0033] If the formed air chamber is due to structural limitations, such as the height or distance of each roof frame 2 is not enough for the optimum air velocity, the lower cover plate 4 can be modified as shown in Figure 2, so that the formed air chamber The intermediate cavity III is additionally enlarged. This is achieved by a specially shaped cover plate 5 . The other details correspond to those of the first exemplary embodiment.

example 3

[0035] If due to structural constraints, the distance between the bottom surface of the air conditioner 1 and the top surface of the main ventilation channel 3 is too small to realize the solutions as described in the previous two embodiments, then the following modifications are suggested. Make the intermediate cavity III of air chamber design like this by Fig. 3, make it extend to the top surface of inner cover plate from the bottom surface of air conditioner 1 always. The interface 6 between the ventilation channel 3 and the intermediate cavity III on the side cover of the intermediate cavity III separated from the main ventilation channel 3 is sealed in such a way that the process air can only flow from the intermediate cavity III into the ventilation channel 3.

Abstract

The invention relates to a ventilation system that is suitable for but not limited to rail vehicles for passenger transport. The invention aims at providing a ventilation system for vehicles enabling optimal air flow speeds with little noise generation while tolerances in the position of the ventilation ducts and the air conditioning unit relative to one another are well compensated for. A sealed intermediate space is formed with the aid of the bearing elements of the roof structure of the vehicle, said space being sealed with the lower side of the upper roof covering and the upper side of the main ventilation ducts (3). Said intermediate space can then be fitted with holes of any size in any given place in order to distribute the air coming from the air conditioning unit into the main ventilation ducts (3). Due to said intermediate space, the arrangement of the main ventilation ducts (3) does not depend upon the position of the air outlets of the air conditioning unit (1). The ventilation ducts can be placed on the entire width of the lower side of said intermediate space. Deviation of position of the air conditioning unit (1) and the main ventilation ducts (3) resulting from admissible tolerances can thereby be compensated without any difficulty.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a ventilation system for a vehicle. The invention is applicable to - but not limited to - passenger rail vehicles. Background technique [0002] An air distribution device for air-conditioned rail vehicles with an air-conditioning system installed in the roof area is known. The air to be treated here is guided into the main ventilation duct between the vehicle roof and the inner roof by means of the air supply ducts of the air conditioning system, in particular located on the roof of the vehicle. These air inlet channels lead from the air outlet of the air conditioning unit to openings located in the main ventilation channel. Due to the constraints of the exterior and interior dimensions of the vehicle, there is very little space between the underside of the air conditioning unit, where the air outlets are located, and the top surface of the main ventilation channel. This results in a restricted cross-section of the air supp...
