no. 1 Embodiment approach

[0052] First, a method for setting a multicast transmission route according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0053] FIG. 1 is a diagram for explaining the outline of this embodiment. The multicast network according to the present embodiment is constituted by a plurality of nodes including a multicast transmission device, and any node of the plurality of nodes is provided with a multicast transmission route calculation device or a multicast transmission route setting device. In addition, the multicast transmission path calculation device may be a device different from each node constituting the multicast network. Furthermore, a multicast transmission path calculation means and a multicast transmission path setting means may be provided in one node.

[0054] The multicast transmission devices (nodes) in the network collect network measurement information (1) indicating data transmission delays occurring on each l...

no. 2 Embodiment approach

[0095] Hereinafter, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0096] In the second embodiment, the multicast transmission path calculation algorithm is different from that in the first embodiment. For other configurations, the same configurations as those of the first embodiment can be used.

[0097] Figure 10 The outline of the multicast communication path calculation processing procedure in the second embodiment is shown.

[0098] First, a distance map is input to the multicast transmission path calculation device. This distance map describes the multicast communication network using information on nodes constituting the network, link information connecting nodes, and transmission cost information necessary for transmission links. Topology and network delivery costs (step 11). In addition, instead of inputting from the outside, it is possible to read out the collected distance map.

[0099] Next, start point node in...

Abstract

A multicast communication path calculation method is disclosed which includes the steps of: obtaining minimum delay paths from a source node to each destination node; selecting, as candidate nodes of a rendezvous point node, nodes on one of the obtained minimum delay paths; for each candidate node, calculating minimum delay paths from the candidate node to each destination node, and obtaining a difference between the maximum value and the minimum value among delays of the calculated minimum delay paths; selecting, as the rendezvous point node, a candidate node by which the difference is smallest; and outputting a minimum delay path from the source node to the rendezvous point node and minimum delay paths from the rendezvous point node to each destination node.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of a Chinese invention patent application with an application date of December 11, 2003, an application number of 200310118512.X, and an invention title of "Multicast Transmission Path Calculation Method, Multicast Transmission Path Calculation Device and Program". technical field [0002] The present invention relates to the technology for calculating the multicast transmission path, in particular to the technology for calculating the effective multicast transmission path from the starting node of the multicast traffic to multiple end nodes in the multicast communication network. Background technique [0003] Multicast communication for distributing animation or sound to specific multiple users on a computer network is attracting attention. This communication method is a communication method for copying information at a route branch portion of a route connecting a route start point and one or more selected destinations, and...
