Abstract

Electrical generator for use with a water turbine, said generator having a stator (47) with windings on magnetic cores, and a rotor (43) with a series of permanent magnets (46), with the rotor having connecting elements (42) for connection to a water turbine (41). The generator is surrounded by a housing (53) supplied with water from the water turbine. At least one of the bearings (49) of the generator is arranged to be supplied with water from the water turbine (41) for lubricating and cooling.
