Abstract

The present invention provides a drier and a method for controlling the same. Disclosed drier has a heater for heating air that is guided to a drying drum; and an engine for rotating the drying drum; a voltage unit for supplying an electric current to the heater and the engine; a heater relay selectively supplying the current to the heater; a engine relay for selectively supplying the current to the engine; a safety relay for selectively supplying the current from the voltage unit to each relay; a control device interrupting the current by disconnecting the safety relay, when an abnormal stop arises after the control device determines whether the abnormal stop arose during a drying process.
