Abstract

The invention is a wedge block safety device for a high-altitude lift platform: a wedge block is constituted between a fixing component (1) and a lift platform (2); the wedge block (6) is positioned in a wedge slot (5); a single acting oil cylinder (9) is connected with the electromagnetic valve of a hydraulic system and controls the movement of the wedge block (6); the friction ratchet wheel (13) of a wedge controller (4) contacts the surface of the fixing component (1) to sense the descending movement of the lift platform (2). When the lift platform descends at an ultra speed, a input shaft (22) rotates rapidly so that the centrifugal force forces a mass block (27) to move outward and thus drive a wheel hub (31) and an output shaft (23) to rotate; the electromagnetic valve is powered off by a contact arm (26) and then the single acting oil cylinder (9) is turned on to return oil; the wedge block (6), driven by a cylinder spring, moves upwards to tightly press the wedge slot (5), thus braking the operation platform from ultra-speed descending. The invention is characterized in compact structure, low manufacture cost and high reliability, thus being suitable for use as the safety assurance device for major high-altitude elevators.
