1955 results about "Control arm" patented technology

In automotive suspension, a control arm, also known as an A-arm, is a hinged suspension link between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub that carries the wheel. The inboard (chassis) end of a control arm is attached by a single pivot, usually a rubber bushing. It can thus control the position of the outboard end in only a single degree of freedom, maintaining the radial distance from the inboard mount. Although not deliberately free to move, the single bushing does not control the arm from moving back and forth; this motion is constrained by a separate link or radius rod.

System and method for remote endoscopic surgery

A teleoperator system with telepresence is shown which includes right and left hand controllers (72R and 72L) for control of right and left manipulators (24R and 24L) through use of a servomechanism that includes computer (42). Cameras (46R and 46L) view workspace (30) from different angles for production of stereoscopic signal outputs at lines (48R and 48L). In response to the camera outputs a 3-dimensional top-to-bottom inverted image (30I) is produced which, is reflected by mirror (66) toward the eyes of operator (18). A virtual image (30V) is produced adjacent control arms (76R and 76L) which is viewed by operator (18) looking in the direction of the control arms. By locating the workspace image (30V) adjacent the control arms (76R and 76L) the operator is provided with a sense that end effectors (40R and 40L) carried by manipulator arms (34R and 34L) and control arms (76R and 76L) are substantially integral. This sense of connection between the control arms (76R and 76L) and end effectors (40R and 40L) provide the operator with the sensation of directly controlling the end effectors by hand. By locating visual display (246) adjacent control arms (244R and 244L) image (240I) of the workspace is directly viewable by the operator (FIGS. 12 and 13). Use of the teleoperator system for surgical procedures is also disclosed (FIGS. 7-9 and 13).

Drill pipe connecting and disconnecting apparatus

Drilling rig apparatus for connecting and disconnecting well pipe at a drilling rig. A remotely controlled power wrench assembly is mounted on a remotely controlled lifting mechanism attached to a base spaced about the well axis on the rig floor. The wrench assembly includes upper and lower wrenches carried by the lifting mechanism. The wrench assembly includes a lower wrench for gripping a lower box coupling of a drill pipe section at the well center. An upper wrench is provided for spinning an upper pin coupling into or out of threaded engagement with the lower box coupling. The upper wrench has two opposed spinner-roller pairs which translate between open and closed positions for spinning the upper pin coupling when in a closed position. The upper wrench also has two opposed jaw blocks which translate between open and closed positions for gripping the pin coupling in a closed position. The spinner roller pairs and the jaw blocks move in directions perpendicular to each other into and out of a cavity through which the well axis passes vertically. Torque cylinders are provided by which the upper wrench is torqued in a first or "torquing up" direction while the jaw blocks are gripping the pin coupling and in a second or "breaking loose" direction. A manipulator is pivotably carried on a rod supported from the wrench assembly. The manipulator includes a remotely controlled arm and hand assembly which captures a drill pipe section in its hand and transfers the drill pipe while being supported vertically by the drilling rig between the well axis and a position at the side-of the wrench assembly. The drilling rig apparatus includes a bore arranged and designed for placement on the rig floor around the well axis. A slot is provided between frame members for placement of a pneumatically remotely controlled power slip manipulator for setting and releasing slips in the rotary table for supporting the drill pipe string in the well bore during connecting and disconnecting operations of drill pipe sections.

Fluorine-containing polymer mixing material and method for preparing bulb buffer ball keyway by same

The invention discloses a fluorine-containing polymer mixing material and a method for preparing a bulb buffer ball keyway by the same. The fluorine-containing polymer mixing material is prepared by mixing fluorine-containing polymer resin with filler modified by a coupler, and comprises the materials in parts by mass as follows: 60-99 parts of fluorine-containing polymer resin and 1-40 parts of modified filler. The filler meets the condition that the filler is stably sintered at a temperature above the melting temperature of the resin and the granularity is smaller than or equal to 150 microns; the filler does not absorb moisture; and the filler is not clustered under the sintering condition and is not reacted with the polymer. The coupler accounts for 5-40% of the filler by mass percentage. The material has excellent chemical stability, self-lubricating property, noninflammability, resistance to atmospheric aging and high and low temperature adaptability and the like as well as higher mechanical strength. The hardness can be improved through modification and the material is used to prepare wear-resisting products. The bulb buffer ball keyway is prepared from the material so that a suspension type direction control arm assembly of an automobile with high mechanical strength, good wear-resistance and a long service life is further obtained.
