1970 results about "Control arm" patented technology

In automotive suspension, a control arm, also known as an A-arm, is a hinged suspension link between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub that carries the wheel. The inboard (chassis) end of a control arm is attached by a single pivot, usually a rubber bushing. It can thus control the position of the outboard end in only a single degree of freedom, maintaining the radial distance from the inboard mount. Although not deliberately free to move, the single bushing does not control the arm from moving back and forth; this motion is constrained by a separate link or radius rod.

Surgical device and methods

A system and method for abdominal surgery is disclosed. The system can have one or more end effectors that can be attached to an introducer and / or tray and inserted into the abdomen through a large puncture through the patient's umbilicus. The end effector can have a surgical tool, such as a grasper. The system can have a manipulatable control arm that can be inserted into the abdomen through a small puncture through the patient's body wall. The end effector can be attached to the control arm and simultaneously or concurrently detached from the introducer or tray. The control arm can then manipulate the end effector to perform the surgery.

System and method for remote endoscopic surgery

A teleoperator system with telepresence is shown which includes right and left hand controllers (72R and 72L) for control of right and left manipulators (24R and 24L) through use of a servomechanism that includes computer (42). Cameras (46R and 46L) view workspace (30) from different angles for production of stereoscopic signal outputs at lines (48R and 48L). In response to the camera outputs a 3-dimensional top-to-bottom inverted image (30I) is produced which, is reflected by mirror (66) toward the eyes of operator (18). A virtual image (30V) is produced adjacent control arms (76R and 76L) which is viewed by operator (18) looking in the direction of the control arms. By locating the workspace image (30V) adjacent the control arms (76R and 76L) the operator is provided with a sense that end effectors (40R and 40L) carried by manipulator arms (34R and 34L) and control arms (76R and 76L) are substantially integral. This sense of connection between the control arms (76R and 76L) and end effectors (40R and 40L) provide the operator with the sensation of directly controlling the end effectors by hand. By locating visual display (246) adjacent control arms (244R and 244L) image (240I) of the workspace is directly viewable by the operator (FIGS. 12 and 13). Use of the teleoperator system for surgical procedures is also disclosed (FIGS. 7-9 and 13).

Embolic filtering devices

An expandable frame for an embolic filtering device used to capture embolic debris in a body vessel includes a first half frame having a first control arm connected to a second control arm by a partial loop and a second half frame having a first control arm connected to a second control arm by a partial loop. Vehicle lean and alignment control system

The amount of lean to be provided is determined by force sensors, the speed, and / or the angle of turn. Then the vehicle is leaned by actuators in the suspension in accordance with a predetermined protocol in an electronic control unit (ECU). The protocol also provides shock absorption by rapidly tracking a contour of a surface on which the vehicle rides. The suspension is provided by a plurality of arm assemblies each including a lower arm, an upper control arm, and an actuator motively connected to the lower arm and to the upper control arm. The arm assemblies are pivotally connected to the frame on a common axis. The arm assemblies generally form parallelograms and are actuated in concert to remain generally parallel to each other through a range of angles to adjust the lean of the vehicle. The arm assemblies are also actuated independently of each other to accommodate variations in the contour. In one aspect, an actuator controlled by an ECU can be replaced by a mechanical actuator that can be activated manually such as by a driver's own leaning weight.

Vehicular rear suspension system

A vehicular rear suspension system includes an upper arm, a lower arm, and a control arm, each of which is connected to a knuckle. A straight line passing through a ball joint and a rubber bushing joint intersects the road surface at an intersection point that is positioned behind a ground contact point of the rear wheel in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. The ball joint connects the upper arm to the knuckle, and the rubber bushing joint connects the lower arm to the knuckle. Longitudinal elastic coefficients of the three arms are set in a predetermined relationship. Therefore, the intersection point at which an elastic kingpin intersects the road surface is positioned without fail behind a point of action of a lateral force when turning in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body to achieve a lateral force toe-in and enhanced steering stability of the vehicle.

Tilting independent suspension system for motorcycle trike

A tilting suspension system is adapted for use with a vehicle having three wheels and a frame. The system has two sets of control arms, each set of control arms being pivotally connected to one side of the frame. An upright is pivotally connected to each set of control arms, each upright having a rotatable hub for allowing one of the wheels to be mounted thereto. Two rocker arms are pivotally connected to the frame, and a control link is pivotally connected to each of the rocker arms, such that pivoting of one rocker arm causes corresponding pivoting of the other rocker arm. A link member operably connects each rocker arm to a corresponding upright, such that pivoting of each rocker arm causes corresponding movement of the uprights. An actuator is configured to selectively pivot the rocker arms, such that actuation of the actuator pivots the rocker arms, thereby causing the frame to rotate about a generally longitudinal roll center and causing each upright to rotate about a generally longitudinal axis.

Vehicle door opening and closing structure

A slider is provided on a rear door so as to be able to freely reciprocated, and the slider is connected to a vehicle body through a control arm and a driven arm. A linear cam groove and a curved cam groove continuous to the linear cam groove are formed in a guide plate fixed to the rear door. A control arm that controls an operation of the rear door includes a proximal portion rotatably attached to the slider and a pair of arm portions continuous to the proximal portion. The longer arm portion is attached to the vehicle body whereas the shorter arm portion is guided by the cam grooves. A projection amount of the rear door can be thereby set larger than a curve amount of the curved cam groove. In addition, a width of the guide plate can be thereby reduced. Therefore, the guide plate can be attached not to the vehicle body but to the rear door.

Fluorine-containing polymer mixing material and method for preparing bulb buffer ball keyway by same

The invention discloses a fluorine-containing polymer mixing material and a method for preparing a bulb buffer ball keyway by the same. The fluorine-containing polymer mixing material is prepared by mixing fluorine-containing polymer resin with filler modified by a coupler, and comprises the materials in parts by mass as follows: 60-99 parts of fluorine-containing polymer resin and 1-40 parts of modified filler. The filler meets the condition that the filler is stably sintered at a temperature above the melting temperature of the resin and the granularity is smaller than or equal to 150 microns; the filler does not absorb moisture; and the filler is not clustered under the sintering condition and is not reacted with the polymer. The coupler accounts for 5-40% of the filler by mass percentage. The material has excellent chemical stability, self-lubricating property, noninflammability, resistance to atmospheric aging and high and low temperature adaptability and the like as well as higher mechanical strength. The hardness can be improved through modification and the material is used to prepare wear-resisting products. The bulb buffer ball keyway is prepared from the material so that a suspension type direction control arm assembly of an automobile with high mechanical strength, good wear-resistance and a long service life is further obtained.
