405 results about "Razor strop" patented technology

A razor strop (or razor strap) is a flexible strip of leather, canvas, denim fabric, balsa wood, or other soft material, used to straighten and polish the blade of a straight razor, a knife, or a woodworking tool like a chisel. In many cases stropping re-aligns parts of the blade edge that have been bent out of alignment. In other cases, especially when abrasive polishing compound is used, stropping may remove a small amount of metal. Stropping can also burnish (i.e. push metal around on) the blade.

Integrated shaver and hair trimmer device with adjustable handle

An integrated shaver and hair trimmer device with an adjustable handle includes a shaver and trimmer assembly with a shaver / trimmer head including one or more cutting blade assemblies and an elongated handle assembly connected to the shaver and trimmer assembly. The shaver and trimmer assembly and the handle assembly are constructed and arranged such that at a point of connection of the assemblies either the shaver and trimmer assembly or the handle assembly move or pivot about the point of connection to adjust a position or angle of the handle assembly relative to the shaver and trimmer assembly. The device is further constructed and arranged to securely and removably fix the handle assembly at a required or desired position or angle relative to the shaver and trimmer assembly including any one of a multiple of positions or any position within a certain range of movement of the handle assembly. Alternatively, the handle assembly is constructed and arranged at a fixed position or angle relative to the shaver and trimmer assembly. The device may further include an extension arm movably connected to the handle assembly to permit the handle assembly to be lengthened or shortened. The integrated shaver and hair trimmer device may be constructed as either a battery-operated device or as an electric device.

Slotted rotary shaver

An electrically powered slotted rotary shaver which provides the clean, close shave of a hand-held razor combined with the safety, comfort and convenience of an electric shaver. The slotted rotary shaver comprises a body portion and a shaving portion. The head portion is provided with one or more shaving head assemblies having fixed upper grids and lower rotary grids. The upper grids are positioned upon a shaft extending from motor positioned within the body portion of the shaver. The upper grids are advantageously separated into four pie-shaped quadrants held together at the center by a pivot point, and comprise a plurality of apertures disposed over the high surface active cutting area of the upper grid through which hair protrudes when the head portion of the shaver is placed against a user's skin. The edges of each quadrant of the upper rotary grid also include sharpened blades which are arranged diametrically opposite one another to define slots through which long and/or curly hair, as well as previously cut stubble protrudes when the head portion of the shaver is placed against the user's skin. The lower rotary grid which includes openings thereon, is disposed on motor shaft below the upper grid and is planerized through opposite magnetized polarity such that when the shaver is activated, the lower rotary grids spin at high speeds in a continually reversing clockwise and counterclockwise directions upon the motor shaft to create a scissoring action which cuts the hair which has protruded through the apertures and slot of the upper rotary grid and the openings of the lower rotary grid when the shaving portion of the shaver is placed against a user's face.
