A mechanic's body support including first and second horizontally-oriented and spaced-apart base rails and first and second spaced-apart support rails. Each of the support rails has one end connected to a respective one of the first and second base rails. Each support rail also extends upwardly from and is in vertical alignment with the base rails for supporting a mechanic as he kneels in an elevated position over the engine compartment of a motor vehicle. A chest pad and a knee pad are mounted in spaced-apart relation between the support rails for securing the support rails in a fixed, spaced-apart relation, and for supporting the chest and knees of the mechanic while in the kneeling position, thus allowing the skeletal structure of the body to support the weight, rather than the back and leg muscles.

Knee cushion support

InactiveUS20030019007A1Quick and efficient grasping and transportingSmall sizeOffice stoolsReligious equipmentEngineeringLeg surface
A knee cushion support for placement atop a surface in an area beneath knees of a user comprising a covering that encloses the outer periphery of the cushion support. A pair depressions formed in the upper surface of the cushion receives and supports the knees of a user while in the kneeling position. A resilient inner core member is enclosed within the outer covering. A convex shaped ridge member is located between a pair of depressions that accommodate the knee of a user. An essentially concave shaped portion formed integral with, and curved upward from said the lower surface is aligned on the lower surface beneath the ridge member in an arrangement that will permit stacking of a number of knee cushion supports together in a nesting arrangement. A pair of handles or grips are formed on the first and second end-walls to facilitate grasping and transporting the knee cushion support.

Rolling kneepad device

A rolling kneepad having a weight transfer support assembly with swivel casters to support a user, a kneepad cushion provided above the support assembly to comfortably receive a user's knee, and a shin guard peripherally attached to the support assembly and extending outwardly therefrom. The elongated shin guard has a distal end which abuts the upper surface of a user's shoe or boot. Consequently, when the user moves from a kneeling to a standing position, the weight of the rolling kneepad is supported on the top surface of the user's shoe or boot. Downward slippage of the rolling kneepad along the user's leg is prevented and manual reposition of the rolling kneepad prior to the user resuming a kneeling position is avoided. Straps having hook and loop fasteners at the ends are typically used to affix the rolling kneepad to the body of the user.

Exercise apparatus (10) for training the abdominal muscles of a user (41) comprises a lever frame (11) linked to a support frame (12) at a pivot (13). The lever frame (11) has first and second arms (14, 15) joined at a central junction (16) which also forms a fulcrum for the lever frame (11). The support frame (12) consists of a base member (19) having a seat portion (21) associated therewith. The apparatus (10) is adapted to support a user (41) in a half-kneeling position so as to promote neutral pelvic alignment during the performance of abdominal muscle training exercise. In use, the exercise apparatus (10) is operated by the user (41) pushing the first arm (14) away from his or her body so as to cause the lever frame (11) to rotate about its fulcrum (16). This lifts the second arm (15), which in turn causes the seat portion (21) associated with the base member (19) to lift and / or tilt. The user's abdominal muscles are thus exercised in lifting his or her own body mass.
