Abstract

The invention discloses a low-temperature cold start device for the engine with methanol as fuel and the control method, which is characterized in that a gasoline vacuum atomizer is arranged in the cold start device; one end of the atomizer is connected with a gasoline pump and the other end is connected in parallel with a gas inlet pipe of the methanol engine through a solenoid valve and a fuel feed pipe; the opening of the solenoid valve is controlled by an electric control unit to control the change from the gasoline mode to methanol mode. The control method is as follow: i. when the device temperature is below 0 DEG C, the electric control unit can drive the solenoid valve to start the engine working at gasoline mode; ii. when the device temperature is higher than or equal to 10 DEG C and when the stable speed of the engine exceeds 700 r/min., the injection quantity from the methanol spray nozzle is increased gradually, and the lift range of the solenoid valve is decreased automatically by the electric control unit; iii. when the consumption quantity of gasoline fuel is zero, the solenoid valve is switched off and the engine is operated at the methanol mode. The low-temperature cold start device for the engine with methanol as fuel and the control method has the advantages that because the methanol can be changed to gasoline when starting, the normal starting of the device in high latitude area can be realized and the low-temperature cold start device is easily used for the prior methanol engine.
