Abstract

The invention provides a capsule endoscope and a method for fabricating the same. A fitting section (14) at which a cylindrical cover (2) is fitted into a transparent cover (3), the cylindrical cover containing therein a CCD imager (5), and the transparent cover (3) making visible light from a subject incident on the CCD imager (5), and being formed of a member transmitting laser light, is irradiated with laser light (Q) from the outside of an endoscope casing (4), thereby welding the cylindrical cover (2) and the transparent cover (3) together.
