Abstract

A process for management and retro-active regulation of a tunnel kiln for firing ceramic tiles, comprises burners located above the roller plane and below the roller plane, nozzles dispensing forced cold air in a terminal part of the kiln, and means for detecting a temperature internally of the kiln, controlled by a processor, comprises the following operations: setting the processor for a desired temperature curve; memorizing in a first memory standard defects relating to shape and size of the tiles, memorizing in a second memory, for each of the standard defects, modifications for management of the kiln for in order to reduce the defects; performing at intervals on each tile of a same transversal alignment of tiles exiting from the kiln a control of a planarity and dimensions thereof in order to determine a type of defect detected by comparison with data contained in the first memory; and signalling the defect detected to the processor, which identifies the defect by comparison thereof with the data contained in the first memory and by modifying supply to the burners and to the cooling air nozzles on the basis indications of data contained in the second memory.
