Abstract

The invention discloses a write protection management module for a storage device and a method thereof. The write protection management module comprises a power supply circuit, a fingerprint sensor, a database and a microprocessor. The microprocessor is coupled with the power supply circuit, the fingerprint sensor and the database respectively, which receives an operational power supply generated by the power supply circuit for maintaining operation. When the fingerprint of users is input into the fingerprint sensor, the microprocessor receives the output signal sent by the fingerprint sensor; subsequently, the output signal is converted into an input code. Finally, a preset code stored in a database is compared with the input code to produce comparison information. In this way, whether a user is allowed to store data is determined.
