A safe and effective instant authentication method in a wireless Mesh network belongs to a computer network field. The method comprises three stages of preassigning authentication certificate, signing and releasing passport and instant authenticating. In the stage of preassigning authentication certificate, an off-line CA and an authentication center reasonably distribute authentication certificate to guarantee that a local network, an access network authentication center and a mobile terminal hold an authentication certificate released by the off-line CA and the wireless Mesh access point hold the authentication certificate released by the authentication center. In the stage of signing and releasing passport, the local network authentication center signs and releases a passport for the mobile terminal. Finally, the mobile terminal and the wireless Mesh access point realize the safe and effective bidirectional instant authentication.
