Abstract

The invention relates to a method for realizing user access keeping in a WiMAX system and an access gateway for realizing the method. The method comprises: keeping obtained IP addresses and connection information before a user terminal disconnects connection when the user terminal which is transmitting service data disconnects connection by the access gateway, wherein the connection information comprises network configuration information, sending stored IP addresses and network configuration information of the user terminal to the user terminal by the access gateway when the user terminal applies for re-connecting the access gateway with an accessing mode same with that before disconnection in prearranged time, and adopting received IP addresses and the network configuration information to continue transmitting service data by the user terminal. The method can reduce the accessing time and can keep the continuity of upper layer services when the user terminal is reconnected.
