[0050] Formation of Polyphosphate in AN+MAP Melt

[0051] Thoroughly mix neat ammonium nitrate (10% by weight NH 4 NO 3 ) and monoammonium phosphate (90% by weight NH 4 h 2 PO 4 ), and melt at 190°C. The melt was kept at 200°C for 2 hours. Analyze the mixture for orthophosphate and polyphosphate composition before and after heating:

[0052] result:

[0053] When the compound is molten, keep it at 200°C for 2 hours

[0054] Orthophosphate 98.9% 61.3%

[0055] Pyrodiphosphate Traces only 32.0%

[0056] Tripolyphosphate 1.1% 4.9%

[0057] Trimetaphosphate Trace 1.8%

Abstract

It is disclosed a method for the nitrosphate process to produce NPK or NP material with polyphosphates by reducing the pressure in the evaporation stage and / or increasing the temperature in the evaporation stage and/or controlling the temperature in the crystallization stage wherein a material is produced containing a mixture of MAP, DAP, DCP and optionally apatite and a controlled amount of condensed phosphates (polyphosphates), and N/P and Ca/P ratios of the NPK material are N/P >= 0.95 and 1.0 >= Ca/P = 0.2 and products thereof.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to NPK or NP materials comprising polyphosphates and methods for their preparation. By using the nitrophosphate method according to the invention, it is possible to obtain said materials with specific different phosphate compositions. Background technique [0002] Water-soluble phosphates in fertilizers are readily immobilized by the soil due to precipitation of phosphate-containing insoluble compounds. This sometimes leads to rather low uptake of phosphate in conventional fertilizers. Phosphate availability will be increased if the phosphate source has better mobility or if the phosphate source has a reduced tendency to react with metal ions in the soil. This requires a form of phosphate that is less prone to precipitation and less rapidly and strongly absorbed by soil particles.
