In the invention, by means of improvement of the material, the appearance and the structure of the measuring instrument, stability and controllability of the instrument are improved; by means of development of a digital image processing software system, automation degree for acquiring a vegetation coverage numerical value is improved; and by means of limitation in shooting range, adjustment of a vertical visual angle and automatic focusing of the camera, relatively strict control on the shooting range and edge deformation is achieved and measuring precision of vegetation coverage is improved.
