[0146] Blood samples were drawn from normal human subjects (n=26) seen at the local Nancy University Hospital for the purpose of biological testing not related to cancer. Clinical records were reviewed by trained physicians who determined that the subjects were not acutely ill, were not suspected of having active cancer, allergies, or autoimmune disorders. The group included patients with cancer risk factors such as smoking and obesity, one control who had had uterine cancer surgically removed 10 years before the blood sample was taken, and one who was pregnant when the blood sample was taken.
