Abstract

The invention provides a network element interworking method and an AAA (authentication, authorization and accounting) server. The method comprises the following steps: the AAA server receives and processes a message from a first network element group, wherein, the first network element group is positioned at one side of the AAA server; when the AAA server determines that a protocol type supported by the received message is inconsistent with that supported by a second network element group, the AAA server converts the processed message into a message with a format of the protocol type supported by the second network element group, wherein, the second network element group is positioned at the other side of the AAA server; and the AAA server processes the converted message and sends the processed message to the second network element group.
