When a sending end performs data transmission, it determines a timeslot parameter value according to the number of FEC encoders configured thereby, an OTUk data frame to be sent is divided into corresponding paths of data according to the timeslot parameter value, and the data is sent to each corresponding FEC encoder for encoding; and each path of encoded data is multiplexed into OTUk data frames for transmission according to the determined timeslot parameter value. In the embodiments of the present invention, as the number of FEC encoders can be configured according to the requirement on the signal transmission quality and the number is not less than 1, system resources can be effectively saved and FEC can be flexibly realized according to the requirement on the signal transmission quality.
