Embodiment 1

[0167] Preparation of Elastomeric Compositions 1-4

[0168] Elastomeric compositions 1-4 given in Table 1 were prepared as follows (the amounts of the individual components are given in phr).

[0169] All components except sulfur and accelerator (CBS) were mixed together in an internal mixer (model Pomini PL 1.6) for about 5 minutes (first step). As soon as the temperature reached 145±5°C, the elastomeric composition was removed. Sulfur and accelerator (CBS) are then added and mixing is carried out in an internal mixer (type Thermo Haake Rheomix 3000p) at a maximum temperature of 100° C. for about 5 minutes (second stage).

Abstract

The present invention relates to a tyre comprising at least one structural element including a crosslinked elastomeric material obtained by crosslinking a crosslinkable elastomeric composition comprising: (a) 100 phr of at least one elastomeric polymer; (b) from about 0.1 phr to about 120 phr of at least one reinforcing filler; (c) from about 0.01 phr to about 20 phr of at least one oxetane derivative; and (d) from about 0.01 phr to about 10 phr of at least one amino acid. Preferably, said structural element is selected from: tread band, tread underlayer, bead filler, sidewalls, and sidewall inserts.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to tires and crosslinkable elastomeric compositions comprising oxetane derivatives and amino acids. [0002] The invention relates in particular to tires comprising at least one structural element obtained by crosslinking a crosslinkable elastomeric composition comprising an oxetane derivative and an amino acid, preferably having the general formula below. [0003] Furthermore, the present invention also relates to a crosslinkable elastomer composition comprising an oxetane derivative and an amino acid, and to a crosslinked article obtained by crosslinking the crosslinkable elastomer composition. Background technique [0004] In the rubber industry, especially tire manufacture, it is known practice to use additives in crosslinkable elastomeric compositions to improve the properties of the finished product, ie the crosslinked article. [0005] For example, the static and dynamic modulus of the elastomeric composi...
