Abstract

The invention provides a stacked link aggregation fault detection method and stacked devices, wherein the method comprises the following steps: periodically sending a KeepAlive message from a first detection port, if an ACK message which aims at the KeepAlive message and is sent by an adjacent stacked device is not received within the maximum retry time or the maximum retry time, determining thata link passing through the first detection port has a fault, then setting the first detection port into the state of not participating in message forwarding; and periodically waiting for receiving the KeepAlive message at a second detection port, if the KeepAlive message sent by the adjacent stacked device is received within the maximum retry time or the maximum retry time, determining that a link passing through the second detection port has a fault, then setting the second detection port into the state of not participating in message forwarding.
