According to said method, a lightweight board (1) is first fixed to a fixing device via two outer cover boards (2, 4) and a center layer (3) and at least one front bore (5) is incorporated thereinto a section of the bore channel of which engages in a cover board (2, 4). A fitting (10) is inserted into the bore channel. Glue is injected into the fitting (10) into a glue chamber (13) which is partially delimited by the wall (8) of the bore channel in the region of the cover board (2, 4). Fittings can thus be effectively mounted to the front faces of lightweight boards (1).
