Abstract

A method and an access node for preventing address conflict are provided. The method includes: when receiving an uplink message, obtaining the Medium Access Control (MAC) address and the Link Local Address (LLA) of the client which are carried in the message, wherein the message is the Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) protocol message born in the Ethernet; generating corresponding Virtual MAC (VMAC) address for the MAC address according to a predetermined rule; generating corresponding Virtual LLA (VLLA) according to the VMAC address, wherein there is one-to-one correspondence relationship between the VMAC address and the VLLA, and the generated VMAC address and the VLLA are unique in a network under a Broadband Network Gateway (BNG); replacing the MAC address and the LLA in the message with the VMAC address and the VLLA; transmitting the uplink message including the VMAC address and the VLLA.
