Abstract

The invention discloses a low specific gravity polypropylene composite material for automobile bumper use and its preparation method. The polypropylene composite material is made of materials in the following weight ratio: 40-60% of polypropylene resin, 30-50% of a segmented ternary copolymer, 5-15% of a toughening agent, 0.1-1% of an anti-oxidant, 0-1% of a light stabilizer, and 0-1% of a processing aid. The preparation method comprises the steps of: first adding the polypropylene resin, the toughening agent and the segmented ternary copolymer into a high speed mixer for mixing uniformly, then adding the anti-oxidant, the light stabilizer, and the processing aid for continuous high speed mixing, adding the well mixed premix into a double screw extruder for extrusion moulding, thus obtaining the polypropylene composite material. An automobile bumper made of the polypropylene composite material provided in the invention has high fluidity and high toughness, and simultaneously has the characteristics of low specific gravity and low shrinkage.
