An embodiment of the invention provides a method and a terminal for preventing sound crosstalk between an external loudspeaker and a microphone, which relate to the communication field. The sound crosstalk between the external loudspeaker and the microphone can be effectively prevented under the conditions that the user experience is satisfied and the cost isn't increased. The method includes detecting whether the hand-free call function of the terminal is started or not after the terminal accesses a call and using a second microphone and the external loudspeaker among a first microphone, a built-in loudspeaker, the second microphone and the external loudspeaker when the hand-free call function is started, and the distance between the first microphone and the external loudspeaker is less than that between the second microphone and the external loudspeaker.
