Abstract

A storage system that appends time information to data obtained from the network. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a storage system includes: a nonvolatile semiconductor storage device, a control unit, a memory, an extension register, and a timer. The control unit controls the nonvolatile semiconductor memory device. A memory as a work area is connected to the control unit. The extended register is set in the memory and sets the time information. The timer updates time information. The control unit adds time information updated by the timer to the file when the file is obtained from the network and recorded in the nonvolatile semiconductor storage device.
