Abstract

A switch-mode voltage converter has a switching transistor coupled between an input voltage (Vin) and the ground and a controller coupled directly between the input voltage (Vin) and the ground. The controller periodically turns on the switching transistor for a generally constant period of time. The controller is further coupled to a DC bias voltage (Vbias) and generates a control current based on the input voltage (Vin) and the DC bias voltage (Vbias) for generating a switching signal to the switching transistor.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention mainly relates to an electronic circuit, in particular to a control circuit for a switch-mode voltage converter and a control method thereof. Background technique [0002] Buck and boost converters are highly efficient switching power supplies in a variety of applications. For example, a buck converter can be used to convert the supply voltage (such as 12V~24V) in a laptop computer to the operating voltage (such as 2.5V~5V) required by the central processing unit (CPU). For integrated circuits, buck and boost converters can be as high as 95 percent efficient. [0003] figure 1 is a schematic circuit diagram of the existing step-down converter 100 . Such as figure 1 As shown, the buck converter 100 includes a V in and reference voltage V ref (eg ground) between the control circuit 102 and the switch circuit 104. The switch circuit 104 includes a first switch tube 112a (usually referred to as an upper side switch tube) and ...
