Abstract

The present invention relates to a control system using polarity switching waveforms. A control system has an armature, windings associated with the armature, and at least one power source. The control system also has a controller in communication with the winding and at least one power source. The controller may be configured to direct a first current waveform having a first polarity into the winding during a first time period to move the armature in a desired manner, and during a second time period to have A second current waveform of a second polarity is directed into the winding to move the armature in the desired manner.
