Objects of different properties can be distinguished by different grayscales, and the change of the grayscale of a one-dimensional image indicates the edge of the gap of the fixed marker post or the movable indication rod; a grayscale curve is read and processed so that a position of the fixed marker rod in the gap of the movable indication rod can be conveniently obtained, and the displacement of a switch machine indication gap relative to the fixed marker post can be detected; the displacement data is transmitted to a computer in a machine room through a field bus with a power supply; the computer is connected with all switch machine indication gap detectors of a railway station; and therefore, according to the switch machine indication gap displacement monitoring device based on the linear array image sensor, disclosed by the invention, the monitoring in the displacement of the switch machine indication gap is realized.
