Abstract

The invention discloses a communication system of terminals interconnected among different networks. The communication system comprises a protocol conversion device, an identity storage device and a communication authentication device. An access terminal issues an access request to the protocol conversion device. The protocol conversion device converts the access request into IP (internet protocol) form accessible by an address distribution device. The communication authentication device compares the access request converted into the IP to an identity in the identity storage device for authentication. After authentication succeeds, a VPN (virtual private network) channel between an accessed terminal and the communication authentication device is established. The access terminal and the accessed terminal under different network protocols are subjected to protocol conversion by the protocol conversion device, so that the terminals under the different network protocols are connected and communicated. The communication authentication device selects establishment of the VPN channel between the accessed terminal and the communication authentication device by comparing the access request of a user to the identity of the accessed terminal in an intranet for authentication, so that extranet users are allowed to directly access the accessed terminal in the intranet.
