The method comprises the following steps of: selecting an open and clean ground nearby a red imported fire ant nest, or laying a hard adhesive nearby the red imported fire ant nest; coating a lubricating agent on the inner side of a shielding cover of the red imported fire ant collecting device, and arranging the red imported fire ant collecting device on the clean ground or the hard adhesive, wherein the base is tightly contacted with the ground or the hard adhesive; or sealing a gap between the base and the ground or the hard adhesive through soil, digging out the red imported fire ant nest, allowing the ants to be dispersed around the collecting device, rapidly turning the collecting device when worker ants of the red imported fire ants transport the young ants into the collecting device through an entrance to achieve the required quantity, pouring the young ants and worker ants on the base into the shielding cover, and finishing the collection of the young red imported fire ants.
