Embodiment Construction

[0027] A sample carrier for microscopic examination (mikroskopischen Untersuchung) of biological samples, indicated overall at 10 , comprises a circular base body 12 made of a transparent material, such as glass, polycarbonate or the like. The base body 12 has a central through-opening 18 at which the base body 12 can be mounted rotatably by means of a suitable rotating shaft, spindle or the like. It is possible, for example, to provide the central through-opening 18 according to the CD or DVD standard, so that common components can be used for driving the sample carrier 10 .

[0028] Furthermore, the sample carrier 10 has a plurality of recesses 14 embedded in the base body 12 , and a microfiltration membrane 16 is stretched over each of these recesses 14 . Furthermore, supports are arranged in the recesses 14 , which support and stabilize the microfiltration membranes 16 so that they can withstand the mechanical stresses of sample application, filtration and rotational movem...

Abstract

A sample carrier (10) for microscopic examination of biological samples includes a base body (12) and a filter membrane. The base body has at least one recess (14) in which the filter membrane (16) is disposed. The filter membrane (16) makes an essentially flush closure with the surface of the sample carrier (10). The sample carrier (10) has a circular shape. Therefor, the sampler carrier (10) can be disposed in a rotatable manner, so that possibilities of microscanning the surface of the filtering membrane (16) is made.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a sample carrier for microscopic examination of biological samples according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a method for identifying fluorescently labeled objects in biological samples. Background technique [0002] Separation of particles (eg cells, bacteria etc.) from biological fluids (eg blood or urine) is nowadays increasingly carried out by means of microfiltration (Mikrofiltration). The fact that the desired particles, for example tumor cells circulating in the blood, are significantly larger than most other particles or cells present in biological fluids is used here. The particles separated in this way by filtration can then be stained by conventional cytological or immunochemical methods and can then be observed, identified and documented under a microscope. [0003] Thin polymer membranes are mostly used for microfiltration, which have a porosity of the desired order of magnitude. After filtration the microfilte...
