The ecological ornamental fish tank also comprises a purifying chamber which exchanges a water body with the breeding cylinder; and one or more purifying chambers which have level height difference to the breeding cylinder are formed in a water cycle path from the purifying chamber in which a flow outlet of the pump is formed. By adopting the fish tank disclosed by the invention, a miniature ecological cycle system is built in the fish tank by utilizing an aquatic plant landscape system, microbial flora and efficient physical purification, so that fishes and plants are subjected to 'purified exchange' through a water cycle and a microbial treatment system; and the plants consume microbial degradation products to form an efficient ecological cycle system by photosynthesis, so as to achieve the ornamental effects with healthy growth of ornamental fishes, well growth of the plants and clear water.
